Liam Q&A

Why are you a Physiotherapist?

“My interest in physiotherapy came from being on the other side of it. I’d had my own injuries and saw firsthand how much of a difference the right treatment and rehab can make.

What stood out to me was how specific the process was, assessing how the body is moving, understanding what’s going wrong, and then applying the right approach to fix it.

That led me into studying exercise and sports science, and eventually physiotherapy, where I could develop that further.

Now I enjoy working with people through that same process, helping them get back to moving properly and doing what they were doing before.”

Why do people usually see you?

“A lot of people I work with are dealing with knee, hamstring, or ankle issues that are affecting how they move day to day.

Sometimes it’s after an injury or surgery, other times it’s something that’s been lingering and hasn’t quite resolved.

What they usually notice is that things just don’t feel normal, whether that’s walking, training, or playing sport.

My focus is on getting that normal movement back. I look at what’s actually limiting things, then use a combination of hands-on treatment and targeted exercise to restore how the body is moving and build confidence in it again.

The goal is to get you to a point where you’re not thinking about it anymore, you’re just moving the way you should.”

What do you do outside the clinic?

“Outside the clinic, I enjoy staying active, training, and playing soccer. I previously played Premier League soccer for five years before moving to Wollongong, and I still enjoy staying consistent with my training and continuing to improve how I move.”

Movement Therapy — Your initial consultation

Your first session is a 60-minute consultation designed to give you clarity on what’s going on, help you feel better, and provide a clear plan for moving forward. The focus is on understanding your issue thoroughly and making progress from day one.

In your initial consultation, you can expect:

• a clear explanation of what’s contributing to your issue

• treatment on the day to reduce pain and improve movement

• targeted mobility, strength, or control work where it’s actually needed

• guidance on what to do between sessions and how to progress

• a plan built around what you want to get back to

We can help you settle things down quickly, but we also look beyond the symptoms. If you want to fix the issue properly and stop it from coming back, we’ll guide you through that as well.

At its core, what we do is help people get back to doing what they can’t currently do. For some, that means getting out of pain. For others, it means walking comfortably, getting back to work, returning to the gym or sport, managing a long-term condition better, or moving through day-to-day life with more confidence.

We work across a wide range of issues, from injuries and musculoskeletal pain to neurological conditions, post-surgical rehab, and lifestyle-related health concerns where movement, strength, and function all play an important role.

Whether you’ve been given a diagnosis like bursitis, a tendon injury, osteoarthritis, or disc herniation, or you’re just not sure what’s going on, we’ll help you make sense of it and guide you on what to do next.

In most cases, we’ll be able to give you a clear direction and diagnosis straight away. If things are more complex, we’ll explain what we know, what we need to work through, and what the plan is from there.

You’ll leave your first session knowing what’s going on, what needs to change, and what the next steps look like.

Not sure who to book with?

That’s completely fine. You don’t need a referral to get started, and you don’t need to have it all figured out before booking.

If you’re unsure, just book a time that suits you. If you book online, our team will contact you shortly after to make sure you’re with the right person. If you call, we’ll guide you then. All of our therapists can help with a wide range of issues, and if something more specific is needed, we’ll help direct you to the therapist best suited to your situation.

What people usually come in for

Most people don’t come in with a diagnosis; they just know something isn’t right.

Generally, it’s because:

• Pain is stopping them from doing what they need or enjoy

• Something feels off and isn’t settling

• They’re getting back into activity, and something is holding them back

• Their day-to-day comfort or quality of life is affected

• They’ve had an injury, setback, or surgery and need a plan

• They want help managing a condition through movement

Sometimes it’s clear what’s going on, sometimes it’s not. Either way, working that out and giving you a clear plan is part of the process.

Payment options

You can book in and pay privately, and if you have private health cover, you can claim on the spot.

We also work with Medicare, CTP, Workers Compensation, NDIS, and DVA regularly, so if any of those apply to you, our admin team will guide you through it and help take care of the process.

If you book online, we’ll cover this in your welcome call. If you book over the phone, we can talk it through with you then.
