Sports Injuries, Knee Injuries, High Performance
I started working at Movement Therapy in June of 2022 as a member of the administrative team!! I had first made contact with MT after tearing my ACL playing football, and after having a full knee reconstruction when I was thirteen. I spent a surplus of twelve months working with our amazing practitioners, namely Dan Murphy, David Farias, Nick Small, and Lucy Cryer to return to sport, and it was here - experiencing the profound impact that they had during my knee rehab, that my passion for physiotherapy was sparked.
Dancing to Phil Collins Easy Lover in my room
I couldn't decide on the greatest movie, so I'm going to choose my personal favourite, 'She's the Man'
The world needs more kindness, and love and laughs, more people who light up the room with their smile like Emmy Fiumara. And maybe a few more Movement Therapy clinics.

Brendan Jones - BJ is a big 'Survivor' watcher and I have this intuitive feeling he would be a legendary person to have with me if I was stranded on an island. He also always has great conversations that would keep us busy and entertained. Emmy Fiumara - Emmy always has the most positive and warm vibes, we always have the best conversations during our shifts together and I don't think I could ever get sick of her. Additionally, she has excellent taste in music
Your first session is a 60-minute consultation designed to give you clarity on what’s going on, help you feel better, and provide a clear plan for moving forward. The focus is on understanding your issue thoroughly and making progress from day one.
• a clear explanation of what’s contributing to your issue
• treatment on the day to reduce pain and improve movement
• targeted mobility, strength, or control work where it’s actually needed
• guidance on what to do between sessions and how to progress
• a plan built around what you want to get back to
We can help you settle things down quickly, but we also look beyond the symptoms. If you want to fix the issue properly and stop it from coming back, we’ll guide you through that as well.
At its core, what we do is help people get back to doing what they can’t currently do. For some, that means getting out of pain. For others, it means walking comfortably, getting back to work, returning to the gym or sport, managing a long-term condition better, or moving through day-to-day life with more confidence.
We work across a wide range of issues, from injuries and musculoskeletal pain to neurological conditions, post-surgical rehab, and lifestyle-related health concerns where movement, strength, and function all play an important role.
Whether you’ve been given a diagnosis like bursitis, a tendon injury, osteoarthritis, or disc herniation, or you’re just not sure what’s going on, we’ll help you make sense of it and guide you on what to do next.
In most cases, we’ll be able to give you a clear direction and diagnosis straight away. If things are more complex, we’ll explain what we know, what we need to work through, and what the plan is from there.
You’ll leave your first session knowing what’s going on, what needs to change, and what the next steps look like.
That’s completely fine. You don’t need a referral to get started, and you don’t need to have it all figured out before booking.
If you’re unsure, just book a time that suits you. If you book online, our team will contact you shortly after to make sure you’re with the right person. If you call, we’ll guide you then. All of our therapists can help with a wide range of issues, and if something more specific is needed, we’ll help direct you to the therapist best suited to your situation.
Most people don’t come in with a diagnosis; they just know something isn’t right.
Generally, it’s because:
• Pain is stopping them from doing what they need or enjoy
• Something feels off and isn’t settling
• They’re getting back into activity, and something is holding them back
• Their day-to-day comfort or quality of life is affected
• They’ve had an injury, setback, or surgery and need a plan
• They want help managing a condition through movement
Sometimes it’s clear what’s going on, sometimes it’s not. Either way, working that out and giving you a clear plan is part of the process.
You can book in and pay privately, and if you have private health cover, you can claim on the spot.
We also work with Medicare, CTP, Workers Compensation, NDIS, and DVA regularly, so if any of those apply to you, our admin team will guide you through it and help take care of the process.
If you book online, we’ll cover this in your welcome call. If you book over the phone, we can talk it through with you then.
